Story by: Admin (that’s right)
I personally question the taste of some people sometimes. I had this one client that wanted an ad design for them. She gave me no word content what so ever. All I received from them was their logo (low quality), and an image of her (also low quality).
Her instruction was:
“Make is look pretty.”
Based on that instruction alone, I knew this client was going to be trouble. Anyhow, I created her ad and sent it to her.
“I don’t like it, it doesn’t look nice, that color is purple. Our color scheme is dark Cabernet.”
At this point I’m thinking in my head, where does the color cabernet even come from? I got that purple from her LOGO using the eyedropper tool in photoshop. I looked at her website and it was ALL in BLUE.
Whatever, so I redesigned her ad with the dark cabernet and sent it off again.
“It’s still not right, that color is maroon, can you make it more cabernet?”
What the hell does that even mean? more cabernet? That’s like saying:
“Can you make it more Salmon?”
I had to look up the color on google and it’s maroon to me. Then I saw it, a Cabernet Sauvignon grape, which is a deep purple. So again, I use the eyedropper tool and got that same purple from her logo, and resent her the ad. She approved the ad.
This client obviously has been drinking too much wine to know the difference between cabernet and purple. That’s like saying:
“I want the color blood, like the outside of a blood orange. Make sure it has that blood color.”
