I recently just started a job as customer service at a large retail chain store. I help customers find what they need in store, pick up the phone, and transfer phone calls to different department managers.
“Hi, This is XXXX, how may I help you today?”
“This is XXXX from the women’s accessory department, could you transfer me to Victoria?”
“Sure, what’s her last name?”
“Are you new?”
“Yes, it’s my second day.”
“Well, you should know everyone and everything by now.”
According to my department store coworker. I should know all 500 employees and their extension number by the second day of work.
