Industry: Customer Service
I was part of the Christmas party planning committee, and yes, party planning committees do exist. Working for a startup company, our budget and guest count was very limited. We invited the entire company to bring a plus one as a guest. The day of the party, I was scrambling around to handle all the last minute preparations.
This new employee, who just started a week ago, asked if she can bring two people to the party tonight. I felt really awkward about her request and told her at this time, we already have a guest count and we just can’t accommodate another person. Fast forward to a couple hours later, it’s party time!
And guess who shows up with two guests. She brought her boyfriend and his cousin. We had a photo area for all of the guests and their picture was as awkward as our interaction. It was the girl and her boyfriend hugging each other and then their third wheel off to the side. Needless to say, this employee didn’t like listening to management and was fired a few weeks later due to her attitude.
